Essay #2

For My essay, I chose the word Competition. To me, competition is an excellent thing. There are people who have told me competition is bad and that declaring a winner and a loser is wrong. For me only through competition have I been able to push myself to achieve as much as I have.

I Want a Wife

Wouldn't it be so nice to have our every need taken care of?  If we all had wives think of all we could get done! Not having to worry about the little things such as what our next meal will be or if the laundry is done. No more rushing around in the morning to make breakfast and get ready for school, our wives would have our clothes laid out and breakfast on the table in plenty of time. I think it would be so nice to not have to do any of the small menial tasks.

4-H

           4-H has changed my life in countless ways. Over the past 6 years, I have learned leadership, accountability, responsibility, and many other life skills. When I first joined 4-H, I was so shy that I would turn bright red and falter when speaking in front of my club which consisted of 5 girls. Since then I have come a long way, winning my public speaking category at both the County and State competition levels 2 years running and once representing Massachusetts at the Eastern States Exposition (Big E) Visual Presentations against 5 other States. My dog Cameron and I are representing Massachusetts next weekend in the 3 day dog show at the Big E. I belong to 4 clubs, am a teen member of Plymouth County Advisory Council and I was chosen as a teen delegate for the Massachusetts 4-H State Dog Show Committee. I'm not sure who I would be today without 4-H.
