For my movie review I have selected the 2011 movie: The Kings Speech. This movie is based on the life of “Bertie”, later crowned King GeorgeVI of England (ColinFirth), his loving wife Elizabeth, who later becomes Queen Mary (HelenaBonhamCarter), and his unorthodox but effective speech therapist, LionelLogue (GeoffreyRush). Bertie, the son of King GeorgeV (MichaelGambon) is viewed as unfit to be king due to his stammer. Bertie knew this all along but plans change after his father, King GeorgeV, dies and his brother King EdwardVIII (GuyPearce) scandalously abdicates the throne to marry a twice divorced American woman. Now the man that many have long viewed as unfit to rule the nation is King and war is looming on the horizon. That war does come on September 3rd, 1939. On that same day, the King made the speech of his life to his people.
